The journey began with a drive down a rough dirt road, leading to a remote part of the desert. The area is well known by locals but you won't find many travelers— mostly cattle grazing and rugged desert landscapes. Eventually, you'll reach the mouth of Grapevine Canyon. From here, park and prepared for a hike.
Pro tip: Always check the weather forecast before venturing into remote canyons. Flash floods can be deadly, especially in narrow or steep sections.

Some sections required scrambling, and caution was necessary when navigating over loose gravel and slick surfaces. The hiker also encountered old spray-painted graffiti from 1995, a reminder that even the most remote areas see human activity.
As the canyon narrows, further exploration was deemed too risky due to steep, waterfall-like sections. However, the scenery encountered up to this point was incredible — wild, untouched, and full of character. If you brought waders, you could keep going.
